Is Windows 7 a new operating system on it's own like XP or Vista or is it just a software to add features?

A. Technically, it is Vista reworked. As some would say, it is Vista done right. Built on the same platform (same Kernel), but fixes all the issues that Vista had, speeds things up a bit, and uses a cleaned up interface. It was not built from the ground up, which would qualify it as a new OS. They just reworked Vista into a much, much, better product.

Q. ...for Win Vista? I'm sure there is some easy to use, cheap or free, screen capture, 'add on software' for Win Vista. My Win Vista Snipping Tool will not work satisfactorily on 'full screen'. Can someone recommend a math symbol input software or add-on that would allow you to type in math expressions in calculator terms and converts it into formal formats (for example if I type sum(x^n, n, 1,5), it gives me the sigma summation form, much like what TI-89 does)? A. If you've got Windows, you should be able to watch DVD's through Windows Media Player. If not, buy some software from a shop & install it/buy from the net & install via download or have the relevant disk delivered to your house/download a free media player from the internet.

How to put a software in another partition?

A. Put CD in drive. When it goes to install automatically, tell it not to install bu t leave the CD in the drive. Go to "my computer", right click on the CD drive, click on "explore". This will read the entire CD file. Highlite and then right-click and copy ALL the files shown. Go to your "partition" drive, right-click on that, click on "explore". Once youre in there, right click anywhere to get to the drop down menu and select "new" and then from there select "folder". Name the folder with the name of the program you're putting in that drive. Open the new folder and paste what you copied from your CD drive in there.

Why don't all installed programs show up in the list when you launch Add/Remove Software in Windows?
Q. I needed to remove a spyware detection program called Virus Protect Pro. It didn't show up when I launched Add/Remove so I had to manually delete it. This meant finding the location of the program and simply selecting and deleting the folder. But there's an annoying icon still on my desktop tool bar that pops up a message about once every five minutes telling me that I have a security alert and pretty much should buy their software or else. I need to know how to get rid of the icon before it drives me insane.

You can take one of your new machines, install all the software apps, then make an image of the machine, and re-image the others. This saves considerable time installing each one. Regarding the automatic deployment of software applications, you can do this via group policy if the software you purchased supports .MSI formate.
